History

The Simmet family has been taking care of its guests since 1933. Back then, Franz Simmet’s grandmother purchased a small bed and breakfast on the Hausberg slope and developed the house into the size it is today. In 1967 / 68 the next generation took over the hotel and restaurant with Gretl and Sepp Simmet.

Their son, Franz Simmet, also opted for the restaurant proprietor profession, qualified as a hotel manager and has been managing his parent’s business since 1980 together with his wife Gaby. Following successful years with numerous renovation and modernisation phases, the fourth generation is now already standing in the starting blocks: Florian Simmet, the chef since 2004, learnt the art of cooking in the superior local catering establishment. He then also acquired experience and inspiration beyond the local borders at a three-toque gourmet restaurant in Switzerland, among others.

“We welcome every guest”

The many regular guests can confirm that hospitality is not an empty promise at the Hotel Hausberg. Franz and Gaby, the bosses, and their children Flori and Ana take care of every single guest and try very hard to make sure that everyone starts their journey home totally relaxed. The Simmets are extremely proud of being awarded 3-star comfort for their hotel at the Bavarian State Ministry on 25 August 2010.

The family has been awarded the “Hospitality Star” seal of quality 4 years in a row in the annual anonymous test by the “Restaurant & Küche” magazine.
